Quadrant 4, a study of rigorous spatial confinement as a narrative tool, is inspired by the work of Carl Andre and Bruce Nauman. The dancers inhabit sharply but invisibly delineated zones defined by a pair of conceptual cross-axes. The piece, largely silent, is bookended by performances of the popular folk song "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You," sung first a cappella on stage, and then by Led Zeppelin
